Trade Classes for Adults
Training to learn a trade is available to individuals who do not need or want a high school degree.
Overview of Training Classes
- Learn a skilled trade: our plan is to include classes in carpentry, electrical, welding, auto and diesel tech, equipment operator, lineman, education/childcare, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Check back often: we plan to expand our training to other trades in the near future!

Crane & Rigging: 280 Classroom hours + On-the-Job Training
Program Credential: NCCER Rigging
High-skill, High-growth Occupation
In construction, a rigger is an expert in tying up, balancing, manipulating and moving heavy loads. A given rigging job in the construction industry may require completely different expertise and training than another does. In this class, students will learn safety principles, how to assist the crane operator on job tasks during the operation of the crane and provide rigging operation and hand signals to ensure safe lifting of the load. Students will also learn to load and secure equipment (spreader bars, mats, counterweights, etc.). In addition, students will learn to follow all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles.
Residential Construction/Carpentry: 170 hours

High-skill, High-growth Occupation
The Residential Construction/Carpentry program was developed to introduce the next generation of builders, contractors, and entrepreneurs to the construction/carpentry occupation. Students will learn carpentry, framing, flooring, painting and finishing, and more. Graduates may find entry level employment and/or internships as well as entry into registered apprenticeship programs with construction contractors as carpenters, installers, and more.
Commercial Electrical: 170 hours
Program Credential: Certificate of Completion, OSHA 10 & Electrical Apprentice License

Electricians are one of the many trades that are in high demand and industry forecasts predict this trend will continue into the foreseeable future. Students will acquire knowledge and skills in safety, electrical theory, tools, codes, installation of electrical equipment, and the reading of electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Residential Electrical: 180 hours

The Residential Electrical training is designed to train students to be an entry-level electrician. This area of study prepares students for entry-level electrician positions, including residential wiring, as well as commercial/ industrial applications. Industrial Electricity courses include specialized courses where students work on equipment used in industry. This class introduces electrical principles, terminology, tools and skills. Study practical application of electrical systems including voltage, current, resistance and power. Compute circuit sizes needed for installation of branch circuits, feeders, and service entrance conductors according to Electrical codes.
HVAC: 144 hours

High-skill, High-growth Occupation
The HVAC course prepares the individual for basic, entry-level employment in the residential and/or light commercial heating and air-conditioning service industry. The essentials of the mechanical and electrical systems of contemporary air-conditioning and heating systems are addressed throughout this area of study.
Material Handler/Logistics: 144 hours
Program Credential: Certificate of Completion, OSHA 10, Forklift Certification

The area of warehousing and distribution logistics is a quickly blossoming type of business in the U.S. and other places. Warehouses and distribution centers are popping up everywhere as competition for immediate delivery increases. This training is designed to educate and train people in distribution, logistics, and warehousing management. Students who take part in this logistics program will be prepared for professional jobs in distribution centers and warehouses.
Plumbing: 144 hours

Plumbing is one of the most attractive sectors of the skilled trades industry today. The wide-ranging system of plumbing process includes fixtures, pipes, valves, drains, and devices that are responsible for distributing water and removal of waste in the sewage within a building. In this course, students will learn to apply mathematical calculations related to plumbing trade, hand and power tools, and safety practices. Course will prepare the individual for basic, entry-level employment positions in the Plumbing industry.
Welding Tech: 170 hours
Program Credential: Certificate of Completion, NCCER, & OSHA 10

Introduction to Welding Multiple Processes: basic welding processes, including oxy-fuel welding (OFW) and cutting, shield metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW).
Pipe Welding: 96 hours
Program Credential: Certificate of Completion
High-skill, High-growth Occupation
Students will learn to identify pipe cutting and welding processes needed to advance to a career as a Pipe welder. This course will also teach how to weld using various types of welding equipment, set up, and calibrate different welding machines. Students will perform entry-level welding functions.
